Resumen

La introducción explica la importancia de recordar a la Generación Literaria del 20, porque en 1920 se dio una contingencia histórica en Guatemala. El movimiento reunió a varios grupos de ciudadanos que participaron en la gesta política y social, para terminar con la tiranía del gobierno de Manuel Estrada Cabrera. El autor representativo es César Brañas, incluyo el marco histórico, un poema, titulado “Oficio Predilecto”, una descripción de las influencias filosóficas. Los antecedentes literarios de la época y la descripción y análisis de tres libros, Sor Candelaria, Inquilinos y Zarzamoras, incluyo la bibliografía. El marco histórico es una referencia de lo que se vivió mundialmente, importante porque los acontecimientos que vivimos nos forman o deforman, es parte de nuestra constitución física y psicológica. Adquirimos actitudes de las influencias filosóficas y especialmente los artistas, utilizan los movimientos culturales para crear un estilo.

Abstract The introduction explains the importance of remembering the Literary Generation of 20, because in 1920 there was a historical contingency in Guatemala. The movement brought together several groups of citizens who participated in the political and social scenario, to end the tyranny of Manuel Estrada Cabrera’s government. The representative author is César Brañas, including the historical framework, a poem, entitled «Favorite Office», a description of philosophical influences. The literary background of the time and the description and analysis of three books, Sister Candelaria, Tenants and Zarzamoras, included the bibliography. The historical framework is a reference to what was lived worldwide, important because the events we live form or distort us, is part of our physical and psychological constitution. We acquire attitudes of philosophical influences and especially artists, they use cultural movements to create a style.
