La Generación del 20 y la Literatura. Tiempo y sentido en la poética de Miguel Ángel Asturias

The 20th Generation and Literature. Time and sense in Miguel Angel Asturias poetics.

Resumen

En mi artículo sobre la vida y obra de Miguel Ángel Asturias propongo hacer un panorama de aquellas ideas y propuestas que planteó en su literatura, haciendo énfasis en aquellas que tuvieron un amplio desarrollo social y cultural y que marcaron una referencia no solo para la literatura y la poesía sino para la historia de las ideas de la época. Miguel Ángel Asturias fue, uno de los más altos exponentes de aquella brillante Generación del Veinte, ejercicio que pretende ponernos en camino para repensar momentos relevantes por sus propuestas o por la indagación de cómo debe ser nuestra nación, qué caminos deben de tomarse y quiénes se han significado, enriqueciendo el pensamiento y arte del país. En el presente ensayo fui seleccionando más que todo, textos de poesía por ser más breves y sintéticos, pero en términos generales en el estilo asturiano, es constante la sonoridad, simbolismo e innovación lingüística.

Abstract

In this article about Miguel Angel Asturias life and work I suggest to elaborate an overview regarding those ideas and proposals that had an extensive social and cultural development, and that marked a reference not only for the literature and poetry but for the history of ideas at that time. Miguel Angel Asturias was one of the leading exponents within the 20th generation, that intends to walk us through such a relevant stage for his proposals and inquiries on how our nation should be, which paths should be taken and who has stood out by enriching our nation’s thoughts and art. In the present essay I mainly selected short and synthetic poetry texts regarding his asturian style which is constant within sonority, symbolism and innovative linguistics.
